Former baseball prodigy Manuel de los Santos was on the verge of becoming a Big league player with the Toronto Blue Jays…until he lost his leg in a motorcycle accident in 2003. One day Santos saw the movie, The Legend of Bagger Vance and noticed how similar the golf swing was to the baseball swing. It changed his life. So why is de los Santos different from thousands of other amputees who play golf? Unlike most, de los Santos doesn’t wear a prosthetic leg. He balances his weight on one leg, pounding the ball over 300 yards.

Deprived of sleep and his golf clubs by an emergency landing of his plane, Brandt Snedeker‘s first visit to Spain didn’t go according as planned. The lone American in the 24-man field of the World Match Play went up against Ryder Cup veteran Thomas Bjorn with only 10 clubs today, after the airlines informed him his clubs were lost. The one thing that actually went as scheduled for Snedeker was he won his match.

Would Faldo and Johnny break down a players swing exactly the same way? I don’t think so. They each see something different. If you don’t believe me, go talk to a golf pro or a great player and each one of them will say something different –something contradicting– about the golf swing. The bigger the backswing, the more power you can potentially deliver to the ball. But the more your arms keep moving past the redline, the more reliant your swing will be on timing. I was hitting golf balls at the range today and all my shots were slightly fat with the divots going left of the target. I was losing 10 yards on every shot until I realized…I was overswinging.

Move over Tiger and make room for the Golf Boys. Golf’s boy band is getting it done. Hunter Mahan conquered the World Match Play Championship this year, Bubba wore the green jacket last month, and young Rickie Fowler joined the mix yesterday. The games most colorful character scored more than just style points at the Wells Fargo Championship. He showed his true colors by marking his first PGA Tour win in a playoff. But one question remains for the boys…what about Ben?
